I CHEATED: *I decided to add a 'few' more pictures and break the rule for this week - this way you can tell how truly yellow/green she was! Poor Baby!*

HAPPY Favorite Foto Friday everybody! I look forward to this every week ... this week Sarah (over at http://www.kissthefrog4me.blogsppot.com) has chosen a VERY difficult task for all of us to do this week ... she is asking us Photo Taking Crazy Parents to post their ONE and ONLY ONE Favorite Foto of the week ... well this is going to be tough for me since obviously in my biased opinion EVERY picture of Jaden is perfect :0) ... but I am going to follow the rules and find my favorite picture of Jaden ... it wasn't taken this week (so maybe I didn't follow the rules) but I just posted pictures from this week below so I decided to choose one that is sentimental to me and there is, of course, a story behind it ...
Jaden was dangerously jaundiced when she was born. She wasn't tested before leaving the hospital and being a first time mom I thought she had darker pigmented skin since my dad is part American Indian. Well when we took Jaden home she was the BEST baby - she hardly ever cried, hardly ever wanted to eat, hardly needed her diaper changed and actually slept through the night the first 2 days she was home. I thought I had hit the jackpot -but I also knew this was NOT normal. Thankfully since we left the hospital after her birth less than 48 hours after she arrived our insurance company required a home nurse to come and check on us - this woman saved Jaden's life I am sure of it. Jaden was 4 days old when the nurse came out and did her usual check up. She was concerned that Jaden had lost 15% of her body weight, hardly wet her diapers, wouldn't eat and of course wasn't awake the entire time the nurse tried to irritate her. This prompted her to take a blood sample. It was literally LESS than 2 hours later when the pediatrician called me himself and said they had a room ready for Jaden at Chidren's Hospital and that her jaundice level was at 28 - so high it was close to being toxic to her her brain function. She was admitted to be under the Billi Lights for no less than 22 hours a day for 3 days. It was awful to see being that I only had her for 2 days at home. She eventually got better and was released after 3 days and her jaundice level was dropped to 14 - that is the level they usually admit you at! So, long story short, this is my favorite picture of Jaden ... it was taken just after she came home from the hospital the 2nd time ... she looks so peaceful ... and so tiny ... Oh how much I love my little Baby!
Well I hope you all had a great week and have a Happy Memorial Day and please say a prayer for all the soldiers, veterans and their families who have fought and are still fighting for our Country! God Bless them all!

Great job sweetie, it must have taken a while to choose - but you did find the "perfect" one. I remember how afraid you were when Jaden was sick, and I so many miles away, keep playing the lotto so we can buy our own plane. I love you and that perfect little girl. Mom
What a sweet picture. So sweet and innocent.
Sweet picture of your sweet girl! And, no worries, no real rules for FFF... just fun to see pics of our angels each week!
Both my older kids were jaundiced newborns... can be scary. But, those bilirubin lights work wonders!

Thank goodness for that nurse! Jaden was such a tiny little peanut..I just love her smile now...it reminds me of that song from Annie ...you're never fully dressed without a smile. Jaden's smile goes from ear to ear and melts my heart!
